We are looking for a Junior Business Analyst to join our Integration team.
As a Junior you will be fully supported by either your line manager or another BA whilst also being given the freedom to grow in the role. Training will be provided ‘in role’ and will be a combination of classroom based material as well as visual/online material, with the expectation that the successful candidate will manage this alongside their day to day responsibilities.
Key responsibilities:
Internal
- Required to liaise across the IT and business departments in the coordination and planning of designated projects / work packages.
- Facilitate the communication to all project team members and stakeholders, this will require contact with colleagues at all levels of the organisation including the IT Senior Leadership Team and may include executive management.
- Build relationships with appropriate business departments and the wider IT Teams.
- Facilitate communication between I.T. Technical Services, Service Delivery and Development teams for both project work and for support & management of the systems we are responsible for.
External
- Facilitate communication to all external project team members and stakeholders; such as external suppliers and service management providers.
- Develop productive relationships with both existing and potential suppliers to Iceland. This includes outsourced 3rd party partners.
- Facilitate communication with industry bodies, as appropriate (if needed).
Purpose of Role
- Business Analysis - to facilitate, coordinate and document detailed business requirements regarding the business change agenda.
- To work directly with the relevant IT development teams or cross functionally to articulate and ascertain the feasibility of the business change and mediate cross functionally regarding potential solutions.
- To aid in the development of new solutions to meet business change requirements.
- To assist internal customers in the management and development of their business processes to create efficiency and value.
- To assist in the management of key IT projects from their inception to ensuring they are completed:
- to the agreed timescales and milestone plan.
- with the desired deliverables of the appropriate quality.
- achieving the appropriate benefits schedule.
- produce documentation (this can be in the form of flow charts, High Level Scoping documents etc) – in readiness for the developers to commence coding, project highlight reporting etc.
- testing: to assist as and when required.
- Working with the Service Delivery team regarding service transition.
- To support the Business Analyst and Programme Manager in both the maintenance and support of existing systems to meet (or exceed) Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Day to Day
- Accountable for the performance of activities related to the support of existing systems.
- Provide regular updates within agree deadlines.
- Educate and influence the business users in understanding the importance and capability of systems, data management and business process.
- Keep up to date with industry best practices; manage time to allow for self learning.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Working with the wider IT team to:
o help develop the strategy and milestone plan for the Integration Team
o help coordinate the delivery of Integration projects
o provide support to other Business Analysts, Project Leaders, and Project Mangers etc.
KPIs
Manage and keep up to date individual project documentation to include the following, if applicable:
- Project documentation (Business Requirements Analysis and relevant Documentation including user stories and user guides).
- Request for Information (RFI) / Request for Proposal (RFP) / Invitation to Tender (ITT) – where applicable.
- Design documentation.
- Product backlogs.
Adherence to the agreed / approved project :
Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience
- No minimum qualifications are required, although formal qualifications would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of the agile ways of working and the management of a product backlog.
- Knowledges of Microsoft Azure DevOps would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and coordinating skills will ability to gather and challenge requirements.
- Knowledge of the Development Lifecycle -
- Analysis capability to work with business users and IT development teams to turn business problems into system solution requirements. This includes soft skills such as holistic thinking and problem solving.
