Job Description

To manage the day to day physical security across the Trust, ensuring that the Trust is compliant with the NHS Security Manual, and all relevant national legislative requirements. The role will involve providing advice, and to act as an expert resource in relation to the protection of Trust assets (the physical building/property and associated external areas) in respect of the Estate. The role will encompass: Responding to incidents, relating to the physical security of building structures from potential violence and crime To recognise potential risks and threats and prevent them from being recognised The role will encompass elements of Compliance Management, and will be expected to work closely with operational teams surrounding the commissioning and coordination of the following (the list not exclusive): Water Safety Electrical Safety Gas Safety Asbestos Management Security Risk Assessments LOLERs Lightening Protection Systems Generators Pressure Systems This will ensure that the Trust is providing high quality health care services delivered within a safe and secure environment. Physical Security 1. To ensure a physically secure and safe environment is provided across the organisation. 2. To manage all external security contracts for EPUT, ensuring that the needs of the organisation are being met. This post will be the lead on service provision and contract management in respect of all security services, and are managed in a financially viable 3. To ensure that the organisation is compliant with the NHS Security Manual and all other national legislation/statutory guidance relating to physical 4. To act as an expert resource and provide advice across the organisation on physical security (protection of staff/buildings/assets). 5. Ensure that the security budget is controlled and managed, to ensure best 6. To be responsible for maintaining all CCTV, Access Alarms, Access Controls (including locks, keys, access codes and other security systems) across the 7. Carry out an annual audit of CCTV to ensure Trust compliance with the NHS Security Manual, CCTV Code of Practise and the Data Protection 8. To facilitate appropriate download of CCTV images to be used as exhibits in a police or Local Security Management System (LMSM) 9. Provide technical advice regarding security systems (alarm systems, camera systems, nurse call/staff attack/panic alarms, access and locking systems). 10.
