The role
We are looking for a motivated and friendly individual with a strong passion for animal care and welfare to join us as a Patient Care Assistant at Catton Branch based in Norwich. Our Veterinary Care Assistants, known as Patient Care Assistants are an integral part of the team in practice. There will be a variety of duties, such as ensuring the practice maintains high clinical standards throughout, maintaining kennels and the general environment following cleaning protocols, feeding animals, animal handling and behaviour, reporting back to and assisting nurses with patient care and preparing medical equipment and reception duties. In this role you will receive full support and guidance. You will be working in all areas of the practice learning the core principles of veterinary nursing. 43 hour a week National minimum wage
Skills and experience
Entry Requirements: Full drivers licence and own transport is essential. Applicants must have 5 GCSE's at grade C or above to include Maths, English Language and a Science and be in possession of examination certificates, or alternatively; City & Guilds will accept alternative qualifications, e.g. Veterinary Care Assistant Certificate, Animal Nursing Assistant Award or National Diploma in Animal Care - you will still be required to provide proof of GCSE Maths and English and provide the original certificates. Previous work experience within a veterinary practice is desirable (voluntary or paid) along with a willingness to learn; work experience with animals would also be beneficial. Please list your qualifications and grades on your CV, including Maths and English and upload your certificates. This will ensure a smooth and faster recruitment process.
