The Cancer Institute combines over 300 research scientists, clinical links with UCLH and the Royal Free Hospital, and collaborative links with the Cancer Research UK City of London Centre partners (UCL, Queen Mary University of London, Kings College London and The Francis Crick Institute), making it an exciting environment for basic and translational research into cancer.

About the role

UCL is one of a network of Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMC) throughout the UK to facilitate early phase clinical trials of novel cancer therapeutics. UCL ECMC provides infrastructure critical to facilitate cutting edge translational work with world leading expertise and supports the development and delivery of a broad portfolio of early phase research studies. A newly funded major initiative is the establishment of a UCL/UCLH Cancer Biomarker Centre (CBC) with the goal of developing and implementing novel biomarkers into clinical trials and clinical practice. Main duties will include: attend the Biobank, Pathology TTP and CBC group meetings, manage email communication on behalf of the Biobank manager and auditor during application and auditing processes; please see Job Description for full details. The position is full-time for 2 years and available from 1st October 2023. Interviews will take place in person in summer 2023 at the UCL Cancer Institute in London. About you

Successful candidates must have a BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent, good awareness of the regulations on the use of human tissue for research (Human Tissue Act), information governance and ethic approval and good knowledge of standard operating systems (PC, iOS). MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent, administrative support experience in relation with HTA projects and good awareness of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) are desirable but not essential.
