We are looking for a PCA to complement the team at Village Vet Primrose Hill in our busy practice. Our PCA’s play a vital role in support of a variety of patients making this practice a great place to develop your skills

Your role and responsibilities

We currently seeking an enthusiastic animal lover to be part of our current Patient Care Assistant team, working enthusiastically to help maintain a happy, efficient, and effective working environment. Our Patient Care Assistants undertake a variety of duties as directed by the Veterinary Surgeons and/or Registered Veterinary Nurses and duties or responsibilities include:

  • Assist with reception and client care to include answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries, booking procedures and taking payments.
  • Infection control
  • Preparing and maintaining patient accommodation
  • Assisting with patient handling and restraint.
  • Monitoring, recording and providing supportive care to patients, under the direction of the Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Assisting with diagnostic techniques to include preparation of equipment, processing and/or packaging for external laboratories.
  • Maintenance of theatre to include preparation of the environment and equipment and

cleaning, packaging and sterilisation of sterile supplies.

  • Assist with the management of the pharmacy to include unpacking of orders, stock rotation and environmental temperatures.

Previous experience is advantageous but training and support for the role will be provided
