Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Operator to work at our site in Burnley.
The purpose of the role is to support the manufacturing operations in a variety of areas across the site as required by the business. There will be an initial focus in the slitting department.
The successful candidate will be adaptable to work primarily in the appointed departments but will also be required to work in any area of the plant. As a Multi Skilled Operative, the role requires versatility, an adaptable personality and the ability to adjust to change in a fast paced environment.
The role is required to operate on a full weekly rotating shift system working:
- 6am – 2pm
- 2pm – 10pm
- 10pm – 6am
Full training will be provided.
Principle Accountabilities
· To ensure all ink returns are taken from the shop floor as soon as is practically possible.
· To oversee the print machine if the Printer is away from the press for any reason.
· Where possible, to check the print quality being produced.
· To assist the Printer with machine changeovers.
· To ensure that machine is supplied with film at all times.
· To remove all printed film from the machine ensuring that it is palletised and banded each time.
· To ensure that all viscosity tanks are supplied with solvent.
· To ensure that all machine solvent cans are adequately stocked.
· To remove and dispose of all set-up reels.
· To ensure that the print machine has a sufficient supply of cores.
· Work as a team to ensure machine is left in a clean and safe manner for the opposite shift.
· Observe and abide by laid out Health and Safety rules.
· Observe and abide by Hygiene rules (BRC Accreditation)
Flexibility
· The jobholder may be required at any time to perform any reasonable task outside the general provision of this job description including supporting other departments where required.
· At certain times the company may require the individual to work a reasonable amount of overtime to satisfy customer requirements.
· Requirements:
· Good attendance and timekeeping
· Knowledge of flexographic printing process (desirable)
· Ability to problem solve
· Good organisational and self-motivational skills
· High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
