The Role:
As production operative you will work primarily within the custom cutting section, customising composite panels using hand tools and automated cutting equipment to customer specifications as illustrated in technical drawings. In addition, you will work as part of a team on company production lines to achieve and maintain operational efficiency of several processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Panel customisation - consisting of the use of hand power tools to customise panels to customers specifications
- Interpret customer drawings to ascertain correct fitting of flashings to panel
- Ensure all pre checks of the machine/process are completed accurately and efficiently
- Ensure conformance to specifications by measuring/checking as appropriate
- Ensure safe set up of machinery prior to production
- Monitor and record accurate operational data as required
- Accurately interpret job sheets or production schedules prior to setup to determine requirements by area/machine e.g. specifications, such as materials to be used, equipment needed, set ups required
- Ensure machine is well maintained, cleaned, and lubricated as required to maintain accurate product and high-quality standards
- Ensuring all safety and compliance procedures are adhered to
- Working with line managers to continuously improve processes and procedures
About you:
- Previous production experience preferable
- Previous experience of interoperating technical drawings
- Previous experience using hand cutting tools
- Have a positive attitude and a flexible approach
- Be able to commit to working as a member of a team understanding all requirements and roles within that team
- Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Good written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Willing and open to learning new things
**Must be at least 18 years of age due to production equipment.
