An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time permanent band 8a Operations Manager for Cancer Performance to join the University Hospital Cancer Performance and MDT department.
You will have a proven track record of service delivery and have significant NHS operational management experience in a dynamic, patient-focused environment. All-round first-class communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work under pressure, at times managing several conflicting priorities. Excellent staff management skills and experience in managing cancer pathways to achieve key performance targets are required. You will work in partnership with the multidisciplinary team members.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of performance-driven service management experience in the NHS and will be looking for the opportunity to develop their skills

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- To manage administrative and MDT teams within the cancer centre and MDT team
- Deliver appraisal and oversee mandatory training requirements for all staff within these teams
- Assist the cancer performance management to ensure adherence to cancer waiting times guidance
- Support the governance arrangements within the team including audits, complaints, incidents, risks and health and safety
- To be responsible to the Cancer Centre Manager for financial performance relating to delegated budgets and operational performance of the MDT team
- Represent the Cancer Centre Manager as required
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Minimum of 1st degree or equivalent
- Management qualification/relevant experience
- Evidence of continuing personal development
- Track record of successfully working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Significant experience working in the NHS in a management position
- Staff management and supervision of or leading a team
- Introducing new ways of working
- Experience in project management and ability to work to deadlines
