Job Description
The job will consist of supporting the 2 service leads and Head of System Operations and Community beds. As an Operations manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Operations Centre. Answering emails and queries that come in as well as producing reports in a timely and efficient manner. The hours are full time. 37.5 hours a week working Monday- Friday.
You will provide support to the existing Operations Manager/s managing 7 Discharge co-ordinators within the generalist inpatient units.
You will help facilitate and co-ordinate flow through the community units working with wards and the wider multidisciplinary teams.
You will represent the trust in system calls and meetings with the Integrated Care Board, NHS England and other system partners.
You will deputise for Service Lead Managers in their absence
- To facilitate the Operations Centre daily meetings, co-ordinate the flow of patients through Intermediate Care beds, Community Nursing and therapy and Referral To Treatment waiting lists, ensuring appropriate placement of patients according to their clinical need.
- To develop strong, transparent working relationships with key stakeholders in the Integrated Care Board, the local acute hospital, social services, Norfolk First Response and the voluntary sector.
- To be responsible for the leadership of the discharge co-ordinators and the management of discharges within the procured commissioned beds within a care home environment.
- Demonstrating a supportive and flexible leadership approach and a proactive, responsible attitude so as to promote confidence in the team and the service.
- To explore current practice, identifying areas for development.
- Liaise with other Trusts in the area regarding bed states. If necessary, co-ordinate the transfer of patients to other hospitals.
The System Operations Team is a small team within SSOCS (Specialist, System Ops and Childrens Services) which has 5 Heads of Service leading multiple teams and services, including all inpatient units within the trust.
The System Operations Team consists of 6 staff; Head of System Operations and Community beds, Service Lead for System Operations, Integrated Service Lead, 2 Operations Managers and an admin assistant. The team work in an integrated way daily to help support the system and each other. The role is one of two additional posts as part of an exciting expansion of the Operations Centre
