The UCL Division of Psychiatry, located within the Faculty of Brain Sciences, is a world-renowned centre of excellence in mental health research. Our mission is to improve mental health through cutting-edge research and education. About the role

The Operations Assistant is a member of the Division professional services team with a key role in facilitating the smooth running of the Division. The main purpose of the post is to provide comprehensive front of house service to the department’s staff, students and visitors and will therefore be mainly office-based. This role will also support the finance and teaching staff with administrative processes. The role requires interaction with many people within and external to UCL, and thus a professional and collegial attitude are required. Excellent verbal and written skills as well as good numeracy skills are essential to this role.

This is a post with wide-ranging responsibilities, for which we are able to provide training and support for the right candidate to enable them to undertake the role. The versatility of this role can act as a springboard to pursuing a career in either office administration, finance or teaching & learning.

Appointment details:

  • The post is a grade 6 post, the annual salary for which ranges from £33,259 - £38,466 (including London Allowance). The post is available immediately on a permanent basis.
  • This role is full-time and the successful applicant may normally work remotely for up to 20% of the week (1 day) if they wish. Working hours onsite will be 8.30am to 4.30pm, four days a week, and up to 1 day remote working.

About you

The role holder must be efficient, organised and take great care in attention to detail. In addition, the role requires interaction with many people both within and external to UCL thus a professional attitude, willingness to help and a positive outlook are required in order to adequately execute the duties outlined.
