Job Description
The Shift Team Leader will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Solution Shop and Small Decant Area. You will organise and deploy the operators on their shift to ensure the achievement of the production plan.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Report directly to the Production Manager
· Work closely with Operators, Team Leaders, Supervisors and Managers in your own and other departments
· Work safely and always promote safe working practices in compliance with national and company standards
· Deploy people and equipment resource as appropriate to ensure cost effective, safe and efficient operation of all activities
· Ensure all operatives are aware of production targets and regularly monitor performance
· Request materials and packaging as required to complete the production plan
· Operate and monitor plant and equipment as required by the operational demands of the facility
· Provide effective training and mentoring of shift staff to ensure personnel are competent to undertake their duties
· Create and develop Standard Operating Procedures (work instructions, protocols, one-point lessons etc)
· Identify opportunities for improvement and the elimination of waste (inventory, motion, quality etc) in the process. Follow these up, ensuring correct approvals and authorisations are obtained
Minimum Requirements
· Self-motivated, hands-on team player
· Ability to lead an operations shift team to ensure adherence with procedures and effective utilisation of staff
· Appropriate IT skills (competent user of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and the company ERP system)
