An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Advisor to join a small team of two and assist the General Counsel in supporting the needs of the Club’s diverse businesses.
The successful candidate will be the key contact within the Legal Department for property matters. They will assist in advising the Club’s operations, where required, on statutory and regulatory compliance and maintain the health and safety legal tracker, work on special projects and assist in managing the Club’s intellectual property portfolio. They will draft contracts on a broad range of subjects, e.g. technology, digital media, retail, commercial and provide pragmatic solutions to a wide range of legal, commercial and business issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Legal qualification.
- Technical expertise and a strong grounding in contract law on a transactional basis.
- Demonstrable understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and EDI matters.
- Strong drafting and excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, keen attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong ability to forge effective working relationships internally and externally, with individuals at all levels and with key stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while understanding the importance of teamwork and collaboration.
- Demonstrable pragmatic problem solving skills.
- Flexible and adaptable and willing to take on new challenges.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of the sports sector, ideally with an understanding of cricket.
- A knowledge of JCT and technology contracts.
