Development Opportunity The Board of Trustees wish to appoint an enthusiastic, full time SENDCo. This unique role forms part of the Harmony Trust Inclusion Service which offers support and intervention to our academies within the Derby hub, and is primarily focused on ensuring that pupils in the nominated academies are fully supported and engaged in the academy curriculum, to enable them to achieve to the best of their ability.
The role does not include a fulltime teaching responsibility; however, candidates may be required to teach to model excellent practice and demonstrate key strategies that improve outcomes for pupils with additional needs as part of the professional development offer. Occasionally the role may need to teach within the academy due to exceptional circumstances.
The successful candidate will:
  • Have High Expectations of achievement, attainment and behaviour
  • Be and excellent teacher with potential to develop further in the trust
  • Lead by example, inspiring and motivating children and colleagues
• Have a commitment to supporting & developing the learning of all learners including those with EAL, who are disadvantaged or have SEND • Support principals in implementing the academy visions and development priorities
