Other responsibilities will include:
  • Identifying, comparing, and resolving data quality problems as it is submitted.
  • Evaluating dataset/queries for quality and accuracy to determine business impact level for data quality issues.
  • Researching and determining the scope and complexity of the issue so as to identify steps to fix the issue.
  • Maintaining a record of original and corrected data processes while building the steps: data profiling, quality rules definition and automation.
  • Analysing, querying, and exploring data according to defined business rules and procedures.
  • Conducting peer reviews of data quality documentation.

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in working within an Agile environment.
  • Analytical ability in investigating data meticulously and enjoys filling in the blanks in the documentation.
  • Numerate and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication.

  • An understanding of data quality assurance techniques and theories would be beneficial.
  • Experience using Microsoft communication and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams, SharePoint) and experience using software tools to support project delivery (e.g., Azure, DevOps, Jira and Confluence) would be advantageous.

We have adopted a coaching style for line management and the coaching and development are designed as ecosystems in the team to improve employee engagement, boost confidence, strengthen relationships, and, most of all, help the team develop their career pathways so they can reach their highest potential. We maintain a career progression framework and learning and development skills assessment to promote progression and skills acquisition within the team actively.

This role would suit a someone either looking to develop their career in an analytical role, or someone who already has experience in a data environment who is possibly looking for a move into the higher education sector.
