Meeting & Events Operations Manager

Meetings & Events Operations Manager is a key role in ensuring that all conferences, meetings and group activities are coordinated and managed within client expectations. You will use your initiative to up -sell client events and manage function space and room block inventory to maximise hotel profit. This is a senior meeting and events position for this large, full service luxury hotel, with high volume catering, banquet and conference facilities. This job is responsible for the coordination and servicing of the hotel's meeting and events space. Will manage both professional level, catering and administrative support employees.

What will I be doing?

  • Direct day -to -day meeting and events activities, plan and assign work, establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Ensure appropriate staffing levels based on guest volume. Interact with outside contacts: Guests, Vendors, and other contacts as needed.
  • Assist clients with menu planning, food and beverage coordination, table arrangements, decoration options, etc.
  • Plan and conduct pre -event and post -event meetings with clients and catering staff to determine potential enhancements to the guest experience.
  • Ensure staff have the tools, training, and equipment to carry out their job duties.

Who we are looking for:

  • 3+ years experience in a catering and hospitality setting, including event management experience within a high volume banqueting operation
