TITLE OF POST: Teaching Fellow SPECIALTY: Ear Nose and Throat CONSULTANTS: Miss Penny Lennox, Mr Ian Bottrill, Mr James Ramsden, Mr Pablo Martinez-Deveza Mr Stuart Winter Mr Priy Silva (Lead clinician) Mr James Snelling Mrs Abi Lamyman Mr Sam Mackeith Mrs Lisa Fraser Mr Konstantinos Chaidas Mr Ricky Pal Miss Sonia Kumar Ms Ciba Paul Mr Ali Qureishi FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full time BASE HOSPITALS: The John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford WORK PATTERN: Full Shift The main ENT Department is located in the West Wing at The John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. It provides emergency care and wide range of general and sub-speciality elective inpatient work for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire regions. Day surgery cases are treated in the West Wing, Churchill head and neck unit, The Horton, Stoke Mandeville Hospital and High Wycombe. The department prides itself on being a regional tertiary referral centre for head and neck oncology, skull base surgery and neurology, paediatric ENT, specialist rhinology and otology including cochlear implants and bone anchored hearing aids. It is the hub of the Regional SpR Training Programme. It is an extremely well supported department with ample opportunity for learning and development and successful applicants will join a wellrespected and recognized department and team. OUH Trust is a large world class specialist teaching hospital providing secondary care for the whole of Oxfordshire as well being a tertiary referral centre. The services of the Trust are provided from four hospitals: The John Radcliffe Hospital. The Churchill Hospital, The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and The Horton Hospital in Banbury This post will be for 12 months from August 2023. The successful applicant will be expected to be involved in the following: Create a regular program for education/teaching – covering all levels of medical and allied health care staff. They will be responsible for providing regular teaching to rotating doctors and monitoring their progress in routine and emergency ENT procedures. They will help to organize and deliver the medical student teaching in ENT Patient care: In addition to planning and delivering teaching sessions, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake regular outpatient clinical activities including but not limited to – nasal fracture clinic, aural care clinics, emergency ENT clinic and otitis externa clinics. Theatres – there will be opportunities to allow the fellow to attend regukar day care theatre sessions. In addition, there will be opportunities to be involved in the following for educational and training purposes: Departmental teaching sessions Clinical Governance meetings Audit, Research and Quality Improvement There is plenty of support to participate in projects within the department.
